MIRA Technologies concluded its participation at Security Essen 2026, one of Europe’s key meeting points for the security industry, bringing to the event an integrated approach to perimeter protection and physical security management.

Throughout the exhibition, discussions with security professionals, system integrators, partners and end users reinforced an important direction for the industry: protecting critical and high-value sites is no longer about deploying individual technologies. It is about creating security architectures in which detection, verification, situational awareness and response work together.

From individual technologies to layered security

Modern sites face increasingly complex security requirements. Critical infrastructure, utilities, industrial facilities, data centers, logistics sites and other high-value assets often combine extensive perimeters with multiple access points, challenging environments and the need for rapid threat assessment.

This is where a layered approach becomes essential.

At Security Essen, MIRA Technologies presented capabilities covering both PIDS (Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems) and PSIM (Physical Security Information Management), demonstrating how different security technologies can contribute to a coordinated protection architecture.

Rather than relying on a single detection method, layered security can combine technologies such as perimeter detection, fiber optic, radar, LiDAR, video surveillance and analytics. Information from these systems can then be correlated within a unified command-and-control environment, helping operators understand what is happening and respond accordingly.

Detection is only the beginning

One of the recurring themes behind MIRA Technologies’ approach is that detecting an event is not enough.

A perimeter sensor may identify activity. A radar may detect and track movement. A camera may provide visual verification. Other technologies can contribute additional information about the target and its behavior.

The operational value comes from bringing these inputs together.

Through an integrated security architecture, multiple events can be correlated and presented to the operator as actionable information rather than as a series of isolated alarms.

This approach can help security teams move from simply receiving alarms towards earlier awareness, faster verification and more informed response.

Different sites require different architectures

There is no universal perimeter security configuration.

The appropriate combination of technologies depends on the environment, threat profile, perimeter characteristics, operational requirements and existing security infrastructure of each site.

This was also an important part of our conversations at Security Essen: effective security starts with understanding the site and designing the architecture around the actual operational challenge.

For MIRA Technologies, technology selection is therefore part of a broader process – combining field experience, system integration and multiple detection layers to build solutions adapted to specific applications.

Continuing the conversations beyond Essen

Security Essen provided another valuable opportunity to meet existing partners, establish new industry connections and discuss current and future security requirements directly with professionals from across the market.

Thank you to everyone who visited, met with and exchanged ideas with the MIRA Technologies team during the exhibition.

The event may be over, but the conversations continue.

As physical security requirements evolve, MIRA Technologies will continue developing and integrating technologies designed to provide earlier detection, better situational awareness and a coordinated response to threats.

Because effective security does not begin at the building. It begins at the perimeter.
